This dataset contains modeled spatial predictions of habitat suitability and uncertainty for three genera of mesophotic hard corals (Leptoseris, Montipora, Porites) offshore of Maui, Hawai'i. The models were developed by NOAA NCEI using approximately 1,300 georeferenced presence/absence records and 34 environmental predictors, achieving high predictive performance with AUC values between 0.89 and 0.97. The study period spans from 2004 to 2010, with metadata updates recorded as recently as 2026.
A framework estimates habitat suitability for marine megafauna and infauna across all known Australian submarine canyons. The methodology assesses geomorphic and oceanographic heterogeneity to derive potential habitat condition scores. This work was published by researchers in the journal Progress in Oceanography in 2018.
A framework evaluates habitat suitability for pelagic, epibenthic, and benthic fauna across all known submarine canyons on Australia's continental margin. The methodology, developed by researchers including Zhi Huang and Thomas A. Schlacher, was published in Progress in Oceanography in 2018. It identifies canyons with high habitat potential, particularly those off the Great Barrier Reef, NSW coast, Tasmania, and Bass Strait.
An extract from the Wildlife Resources System (WRS) contains data on bear hunting and snaring observations. The dataset includes columns for harvest year, method, status, region, county, and detailed age-class counts of observed bears. It is available in multiple formats including CSV, JSON, and XML.
A methodology study evaluates techniques for mapping marine benthic habitats using physical surrogates in northern Australia. The work, provided by the Australian Ocean Data Network, calculates and maps uncertainties from bio-physical extrapolation, physical data interpolation, and cluster analysis. The dataset was last updated in April 2026.
Australian Ocean Data Network provides a case study methodology for quantifying uncertainty in marine benthic habitat mapping. The study focuses on extrapolating bio-physical associations in areas lacking detailed biological data. This resource was last updated in April 2026.
August 2003 sediment sampling results from Sydney Harbour, collected by Geoscience Australia and the Defence Science and Technology Organisation. The data supports groundtruthing for multibeam sonar mapping and analysis of benthic habitat influence on acoustic backscatter. This milestone report documents work for the Coastal CRC's Coastal Water Habitat Mapping Project.
A 48 km2 area of the Vestfold Hills nearshore environment was surveyed using multibeam echosounder and towed underwater video to map benthic habitats. The Australian Ocean Data Network published this integrated analysis of biological and geoscientific data. The dataset was last updated in April 2026.

Geoscience Australia and the Australian Institute of Marine Science collected backscatter data for the Arafura Marine Park in November 2020. The dataset comprises two 32-bit geotiff mosaic files covering the Money Shoal and Pillar Bank survey areas. This baseline information supports environmental monitoring under the park's 10-year management plan.
