GRRATS provides a continuous, 1km/daily time series of river water surface heights derived from multiple satellite radar altimeters. The dataset is processed to create a form more recognizable to the hydrological observation community. It serves as a preparatory resource for users to familiarize themselves with satellite data formats before the launch of the SWOT mission.
From 29 January to 12 March 1995, the Scripps Institution of Oceanography's R/V Melville collected this bathymetry data using a SeaBeam 2000 sonar system. The dataset contains 8-210 meter resolution, 32-bit geotiff files processed with CARIS HIPS and SIPS software. It was contributed by scientists including David Christie and is managed by the Marine Geoscience Data System.
Global bias-corrected climate model output from NCAR's CESM1 model participating in CMIP5 for IPCC AR5. Data provides all variables needed for initial and boundary conditions in WRF or MPAS simulations, interpolated to 26 pressure levels at six-hour intervals. Files cover a 20th Century simulation (1951-2005) and three RCP future scenarios (2006-2100).
SPURS-2 S/V Lady Amber underway Thermosalinograph and Sea Snake data originates from a NASA-funded oceanographic process study. The dataset contains physical measurements from six cruises by the schooner Lady Amber in the eastern tropical Pacific during 2016-2017, including meteorological readings and conductivity-temperature-depth (CTD) measurements at 1m and 2m depths. These in-situ observations support the study of near-surface salinity dynamics in a rainfall-dominated region subject to strong ocean currents.
82 high-temperature characteristic remanent magnetization (ChRM) directions were isolated from volcanic rocks on Snow Island, Antarctica. The data comprises 26 directions from Early Cretaceous rocks and 56 from Paleocene rocks. The dataset was authored by Hou Lifu and last updated in April 2026.
1,360 academic articles published from 2014 to 2019 that used the Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs) climate scenario framework are cataloged and manually coded in this database. Each paper's bibliographic information and abstract is analyzed along dimensions such as paper type, specific SSPs and RCPs used, and SSP-RCP combinations. The dataset tracks the adoption and application of the SSP/RCP/SPA framework to assess its use and inform future improvements in integrated climate-society research.
Water and sediment samples from the Musi River in Hyderabad, India, collected during the 2022 wet season and 2023 dry season. The dataset includes standard water quality parameters, bacterial counts, and concentrations of 7 antibiotic resistance genes. Researchers from the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad gathered the data to study pollution sources and antimicrobial resistance fate.
Three shapefiles contain simulated lake and water feature vectors for the North America continent, derived from the planned Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) mission's high-rate Ka-band Radar Interferometer. Lake attributes include water surface elevation, area, and uncertainty estimates, with features identified from a Prior Lake Database and unassigned water bodies. This is a simulated product for system validation and is not suited for scientific exploration.
Simulated data from the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) mission provides a preview of river vector products for the North America continent. The dataset contains two geospatial shapefiles for river reaches (approximately 10 km long) and nodes (approximately 200 m spacing), with attributes likely including water surface elevation, slope, width, and uncertainty estimates. This is a simulated product derived from the Ka-band Interferometer (KaRIn) instrument and is not suited for scientific exploration.
Twelve shallow estuaries in southwest Western Australia provide data on sediment loads and nutrient concentrations. The Australian Ocean Data Network published this research examining relationships between sediment total nitrogen, phosphorus, organic carbon, and water column chlorophyll a. The dataset was last updated in April 2026.
Subtropical regions are covered by this dataset, which provides volumetric water content estimates for the top 5 cm of soil. It is derived from CYGNSS satellite observations calibrated with SMAP data, offering up to four measurements per day at a 6-hour resolution. The data is stored in daily netCDF-4 files from March 2017 onward.
Seismic survey data from a research cruise in the offshore Otway Basin, Southeastern Australia. The dataset is published by Geoscience Australia Data on the data_gov_au platform. The record was last updated on 2026-05-14, but the specific collection date of the data is unknown.
Geoscience Australia Data published a report on seismic data processing in the Otway Basin. The report, last updated on 2026-05-14, likely contains details on recent regional marine seismic surveys. Legacy product metadata is minimal, with the full content available in PDF or HTML formats.
2004 Sumatra earthquake was the most lethal natural disaster of modern times. The dataset describes a technical capacity-building program between Australian and Indonesian scientists, resulting in a modern earthquake hazard map and a foundation for sustainable risk reduction. The talk was presented as part of the Distinguished Geoscience Australia Lecturer series on 23 May 2018.
A scientific paper presents findings on the earliest and most extensive Cordilleran Ice Sheet in northwestern Canada, dated to the latest Pliocene age. The document is available via open access and can be obtained from the Yukon Geological Survey. The paper was last updated on the platform in April 2026.
NOAA's Global Real-Time Ocean Forecast System (Global RTOFS) provides nowcasts and eight-day forecasts of ocean conditions. The system uses a 1/12° global HYCOM model coupled to a sea ice model, with a 24-hour data assimilation cycle incorporating satellite and in-situ observations. Output includes variables like ocean temperature, salinity, water velocity, sea surface elevation, and sea ice coverage.
Surface velocity estimates for selected Greenland Ice Sheet outlet glaciers, part of the NASA MEaSUREs program. Velocity fields were generated by tracking visible features in optical images from USGS Landsat 8 and ESA Copernicus Sentinel-2A and Sentinel-2B satellites. The dataset includes velocity maps and error estimates for five specific surge-type glaciers located in Canada, the Pamir mountains, the Karakoram, Alaska, and Svalbard.
NASA POES Project data contains ozone profile measurements from the SBUV/2 instruments on NOAA-11 and NOAA-16 satellites. The NOAA-11 data covers 1988-12-01 to 2001-03-27, and NOAA-16 data covers 2000-10-03 to 2003-12-31, with daily files in ASCII text format.
