The 2001 Strategic Environmental Assessment SEA2 Technical report reviews pockmarks in the UK part of the North Sea, with particular respect to their biology. The report details unusual fish densities, specific species dependent on sulphide concentrations, and the unique habitat of the gutless nematode Astononema southwardorum. It was produced by the UK Department of Trade and Industry (now Department of Energy and Climate Change) and is hosted by the Government Digital Service.
