The data was gathered in the Western English Channel, Celtic Sea, and Irish Sea between 7th November and 8th December 2007. Its primary purpose was for multibeam sonar correction.
Use Cases
Calibrate multibeam sonar systems based on the water column conductivity and temperature data.
Model oceanographic conditions in the English Channel and Celtic Sea based on the CTD profiles.
Analyze seasonal water column structure in the Irish Sea based on the temperature and depth measurements.
Strengths
Data collected by a recognized government science agency (Cefas).
Clear temporal coverage from 7th November to 8th December 2007.
Specific geographic coverage stated for the Western English Channel, Celtic Sea, and Irish Sea.
