Description
Conductivity, Temperature, and Depth (CTD) data collected by the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas) from 11th to 21st June 2011. The data was gathered during the RV Endeavour 11A/2011 cruise specifically for multibeam sonar correction. It covers measurements from three distinct marine regions: the North Sea, Celtic Sea, and Irish Sea.
Use Cases
Calibrate multibeam sonar systems based on the conductivity and temperature profiles mentioned in the description.
Analyze regional water column structure based on the depth-stratified CTD measurements.
Model sound speed profiles for acoustic applications based on the collected conductivity, temperature, and depth data.
Strengths
Data was collected by a named government science agency (Cefas).
The collection has a precise temporal scope of 11 days in June 2011.
Geographic coverage spans three named seas: the North Sea, Celtic Sea, and Irish Sea.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment for large-scale modeling.
Last update date is unknown; freshness unverified.
