Description
807 soil samples were collected from 118 sampling points in the Tailan River Irrigation District, Xinjiang, from April 20-21, 2024. The dataset includes measurements of pH, electrical conductivity, moisture content, total soluble salts, and eight major ions for topsoil layers up to 120 cm deep. It was created by QianXi ZHANG and shared under a CC0-1.0 license on figshare.
Use Cases
Mapping spatial distribution of soil salinity based on electrical conductivity and total soluble salts data.
Analyzing soil chemistry for land reclamation based on measurements of eight major ions (Cl-, SO42-, CO32-, HCO3-, Na+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+).
Modeling soil moisture dynamics in an irrigation district to inform water management practices.
Assessing soil pH variability to guide crop selection and agricultural policy.
Strengths
Data from 807 soil samples collected at 7 depths from 118 spatially distributed sampling points.
Key indicators measured include pH, EC, moisture, total soluble salts, and eight major ions.
Sample collection and analysis followed Chinese agricultural industry standards and FAO procedures.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
The dataset's 93.8 KB size indicates a limited scope, covering only two days in one specific region.
