Description
A 178.5 MB synthetic dataset released in May 2026 by Xiaolong Xie for multi-city traffic analysis. It includes 15 generated city cases and an application case for Shanghai Jiading, providing TAZ-level matrices, zonal records, and route files. The data is intended for origin-destination estimation, route assignment, and reproducible traffic simulation.
Use Cases
Generate multi-city origin-destination demand based on provided TAZ-level OD matrices.
Construct and analyze bounded-rational vehicle routes based on the provided SUMO route files.
Perform network-loading and link-flow prediction analysis using the cost matrices and route manifests.
Conduct traffic-control experiments using the synthetic city cases and associated metadata.
Study cross-city transferability of traffic models using the 15 generated city cases.
Strengths
Includes 15 distinct synthetic city cases for cross-city analysis.
Provides a specific application case for Shanghai Jiading for real-world validation.
Contains multiple data components (OD matrices, cost matrices, route files, POI descriptors) for comprehensive simulation.
Released under a permissive CC-BY-4.0 license and is 178.5 MB in size.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment for specific modeling tasks.
Data is synthetic, which may not fully capture the complexity of real-world traffic patterns.
