Adavale Basin Hydrocarbon Resource Assessment for Seven Play Intervals

Seven chronostratigraphic play intervals in Queensland's Adavale Basin were assessed for conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon potential. Geoscience Australia's analysis used 39 petroleum exploration wells and a split-risking methodology to generate risk maps, identifying zones around the Gilmore gas discovery. This data-driven assessment, presented in 2022, provides baseline information for guiding energy exploration and carbon capture opportunities.
