Australian Iron Oxide Copper-Gold Mineral Potential Model Using Hybrid Approach

A mineral potential assessment for Iron Oxide Copper-Gold (IOCG) deposits across Australia uses a hybrid data- and knowledge-driven approach. The model, produced by Geoscience Australia, successfully predicts 91.7% of known deposits in 8.3% of the area, reducing the exploration search space. This work was undertaken under the Exploring for the Future program and continues under the Resourcing Australia’s Prosperity initiative.
