Browse Basin CO2 Storage Potential Assessment with 60+ Wells and Seismic Data

Geoscience Australia conducted a regional assessment of geological CO2 storage potential in the Browse Basin between 2013 and 2015. The study used data from over 60 wells, regional 2D and 3D seismic surveys, and potential field data to identify and risk potential storage plays. Results indicate the Lower Cretaceous basin margin and Upper Cretaceous confined submarine fan plays are more prospective for CO2 storage.
