A 2017 study presents a surrogacy framework to estimate habitat potential for marine megafauna and infauna across 753 known Australian submarine canyons. The Australian Ocean Data Network published this methodology, which uses 22 environmental and ecological variables to model habitat condition. The analysis identifies canyons with high habitat potential, particularly off the Great Barrier Reef and southeastern coast.
Primary data files are HTML and PDF formats describing the methodology, not a direct data table of variables or scores.
