A microfluidic device enables real-time, high-resolution imaging of hyphal interactions between fungi. The platform, developed by Alejandro Gimeno at the University of Zurich, demonstrates its function by studying the interaction between the biological control agent Clonostachys rosea and the plant pathogen Fusarium graminearum. The device can operate under both water-saturated, nutrient-rich and dry, nutrient-deficient conditions.
