Description
The Abell 1763 data set includes images in r', J, H, and Ks from the Palomar 200in telescope, plus IRAC and MIPS images from Spitzer. The source catalog provides photometry from r', J, H, Ks, IRAC 3.6, 4.5, 5.8, and 8 microns, and MIPS 24, 70, and 160 microns, along with SDSS ugriz and 2MASS JHK photometry. The data was published by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and last updated on 2026-03-13.
Use Cases
Identify and classify galaxies in the Abell 1763 cluster based on multi-wavelength photometry.
Study star formation rates in cluster and filament galaxies using deep 24 micron imaging.
Analyze the spectral energy distribution of astronomical sources using combined optical and infrared data.
Investigate the relationship between the Abell 1763 cluster and its neighbor, Abell 1770, using coverage of filament galaxies.
Strengths
Covers the cluster out to approximately 3 virial radii with deep 24 micron imaging at a 5sigma depth of 0.2 mJy.
Provides photometry across a wide range of wavelengths, from optical (r', SDSS ugriz) to near-infrared (J, H, Ks, 2MASS) and mid-infrared (IRAC, MIPS).
Imaging covers a field of ~40' × 40' in all four IRAC bands and the MIPS 70 and 160 micron bands.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download.
