ACT Canopy Cover Statistics for Blocks and Divisions, April 2020

22.5% of Canberra's urban divisions had tree canopy coverage in 2020. This dataset provides estimated percentage coverage of vegetation above 3 meters for blocks, divisions, and road polygons, derived from LiDAR point clouds captured in April 2020. It was produced by a collaboration between CED and TCCS within the ACT Government.

• Monitor urban tree canopy growth over time based on the 5-year update schedule
• Assess vegetation coverage for urban cooling initiatives based on the canopy percentage metric
• Plan for living infrastructure and habitat connectivity based on block-level canopy statistics
