A 2024 systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the efficacy and safety of acupuncture for primary hypertension, based on randomised controlled trials (RCTs) published between 2015 and 2024. The analysis, authored by Zhi-Hong Li, included seven RCTs with a total of 812 participants. It found acupuncture was associated with reductions in systolic and diastolic blood pressure, though evidence is limited by substantial heterogeneity and a small number of studies.
