Description
AHO Reference Surfaces Cairns 0.5m 2023 provides high-resolution bathymetry data for calibrating multibeam echosounders. The Australian Hydrographic Office acquired the survey on 27 May 2020, processed it using Caris HIPS & SIPS, and exported it as a 0.5m resolution GeoTIFF grid. Separate grids are provided for three surveyed sites in MSL, LAT, and Ellipsoid vertical datums.
Use Cases
Calibrating multibeam echosounders based on the high-resolution reference surfaces.
Analyzing seabed topography in Cairns, Queensland based on the surveyed sites.
Comparing bathymetric measurements across different vertical datums (MSL, LAT, Ellipsoid).
Strengths
High-resolution 0.5m grid derived from a national reference survey.
Data processed using specialized hydrographic software (Caris HIPS & SIPS).
Provides three separate grids for three surveyed sites.
