Description
A 2020 bathymetry survey acquired for the Australian Hydrographic Office on 8 Jul 2020. The surface was created from a contracted national reference survey in Darwin, Northern Territory, for calibrating multibeam echosounders. The dataset is provided as separate 0.5m resolution grids for two surveyed sites in MSL, LAT, and Ellipsoid vertical datums, exported as a 32-bit floating point GeoTIFF.
Use Cases
Calibrating multibeam echosounder systems based on the described reference survey purpose.
Analyzing high-resolution seafloor topography based on the 0.5m resolution bathymetric grids.
Comparing vertical datums (MSL, LAT, Ellipsoid) for marine applications based on the separate provided grids.
Strengths
High-resolution 0.5m grid detail for bathymetric modeling.
Separate grids provided for three vertical datums (MSL, LAT, Ellipsoid).
Data processed using industry-standard software (QPS Qimera).
Limitations
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
