Use Cases
Analyze the distribution of Annual Salary and Gross Pay across different employee groups to benchmark public sector compensation.
Track trends in Incentive Pay, such as wellness and longevity payments, over time from 2016 to present.
Compare Regular Pay components, including pay for holidays and sick days, to understand total compensation structure.
Identify patterns in Overtime Pay, which is set by collective bargaining agreements, relative to Regular Pay.
Strengths
Time series data spanning from 2016 to the present, providing multi-year trends.
Updated twice per year (June and December), offering regular snapshots of payroll data.
Consolidated column structure since March 2022 for consistent historical presentation.
Limitations
Employee names are excluded for active sworn law enforcement officers and cases involving health information, limiting individual-level analysis.
Court of Common Pleas employee records are not included and must be requested separately, creating an incomplete county-wide view.
Union contracted salaries may reflect the year paid, not earned, which could complicate year-over-year earnings analysis.
