A study by Herald Wilson Ambrose of Curtin University on anaerobic co-digestion of mixed waste activated sludge (MWAS) and fruit and vegetable waste (FVW). The research evaluates digester performance and stability, reporting a 1.6-fold increase in methane yield for a 75% MWAS and 25% FVW mixture and a 2.17-fold yield increase with hybrid pretreatment. Two-stage digestion was found to minimize high acidification issues from co-digestion.
