Australian Marine Bioregionalisation with 41 Bioregions and Seascape Maps

41 bioregions, including 24 unique provinces, were defined for Australia's Exclusive Economic Zone using seabed geomorphic features and fish diversity data. Geoscience Australia created integrated 'seascape' maps by combining bathymetry, ocean primary production, sediment properties, temperature, and sediment mobilisation data. This dataset supports the implementation of the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act through regional marine plans and representative marine protected area networks.
