Seasonal climatology maps of global sea surface salinity are derived from the Aquarius/SAC-D satellite's radiometer and scatterometer instruments. The data provides gridded 1-degree spatial resolution salinity values, averaged over seasonal timescales and corrected for rainfall effects. This version 5.0 product is a collaborative effort between NASA and Argentina's CONAE, with data last updated in June 2015.
License terms are unknown; users must verify permissions for use. The data is specifically a seasonal climatology product (long-term average), not a time series of individual observations.
