Seasonal climatology data for sea surface spiciness, a measure of ocean density, derived from satellite observations. The data is produced by NASA and Argentina's CONAE from the AQUARIUS/SAC-D satellite, which uses three radiometers and a scatterometer to measure brightness temperature and ocean backscatter. This version 5.0 product is gridded at a 1-degree spatial resolution and is based on measurements from the satellite's ascending passes.
