ASDST Survey Priority Derived Model

The ASDST Survey Priority Derived Model is a suite of raster GIS layers predicting the likelihood of Aboriginal heritage site features across New South Wales. Developed by the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, the current Version 7.5 was produced in 2020 at 50-meter resolution. It includes separate predictive models for features like stone artefacts, rock art, burials, and scarred trees, both pre-colonisation and in the current landscape.

Use Cases

• Prioritising field survey areas based on the survey priority map (drvd_srv) layer.
• Assessing potential heritage impact by comparing pre-colonisation (p1750XXX) and current (curr_XXX) likelihood layers.
• Evaluating model reliability for specific feature predictions using the drvd_rel layer.
• Identifying areas of high accumulated impact on Aboriginal heritage using the drvd_imp layer.
