The Australian Marine Samples (MARS) database holds 14,204 seabed sediment samples, with quality control excluding over 7,000 samples, mostly dredged. This study from the Australian Ocean Data Network analyzes the effect of including poor-quality dredged samples on the accuracy of spatial predictions of seabed mud content in two regions. Predictions were generated using Inverse Distance Weighting and Ordinary Kriging, with accuracy assessed via relative mean absolute error.
Data is presented in report formats (PDF, HTML); the underlying tabular data used for the analysis may not be directly available.
