Description
34 audiomagnetotelluric (AMT) and 46 broadband magnetotelluric (BBMT) stations were collected in the Burwash Landing region, Yukon, by Quantec Geoscience Ltd. from October 8 to November 2, 2021. The Government of Yukon distributes the data, including EDI files for soundings and GDB, GRD, XYZ, VOXEL files for 2D and 3D modelling products. Geographic positioning data is provided in GDB and CSV formats.
Use Cases
Analyze subsurface resistivity structures based on AMT and BBMT sounding data
Perform 2D and 3D inversion modelling based on the provided GDB, GRD, XYZ, and VOXEL files
Map geothermal resource potential based on the integrated electromagnetic data
Validate geological models based on the geographic positioning of stations and electrodes
Strengths
80 total magnetotelluric stations (34 AMT and 46 BBMT) provide a detailed survey grid
Data collection occurred over a specific 25-day period from October 8 to November 2, 2021
Multiple file formats (EDI, GDB, GRD, XYZ, CSV, VOXEL) cater to different analysis workflows
Limitations
Row count and dataset size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
