Description
Geoscience Australia's Boreholes database provides header, survey, and lithostratigraphic data for boreholes drilled across Australia. The service aggregates records from Commonwealth offshore jurisdictions, onshore boreholes from government and private entities, and historical data from predecessor organizations BMR and AGSO. Where possible, the data conforms to the GeoSciML v4.1 data transfer standard.
Use Cases
Analyze subsurface geological formations based on lithostratigraphic data mentioned in the description
Map borehole locations and depths for resource exploration based on header and survey data
Study historical drilling activity based on records from predecessor organizations
Conform geological data to a standard schema based on the GeoSciML v4.1 transfer standard
Strengths
Data conforms to the GeoSciML v4.1 data transfer standard
Includes historical records from predecessor organizations BMR and AGSO
Aggregates data from multiple government and private sources
