AUV Survey of Benthic Habitats and Marine Biodiversity in SE Tasmania

Australian Ocean Data Network provides data from a study trialing Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) to map seabed habitats and biodiversity in coastal and offshore waters of SE Tasmania. The AUV integrated image capture with ship-based multibeam bathymetry to survey diverse marine environments, from kelp reefs to deep shelf sediments. Results were presented at the OCEANS'10 IEEE Sydney Conference in May 2010.
