AUV Survey of Benthic Habitats and Marine Biodiversity in SE Tasmania

SE Tasmania coastal and offshore waters were surveyed using an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) integrating image capture with ship-based multibeam bathymetry. The data improved understanding of benthic habitat and marine organism distribution, with direct application to environmental management and conservation. The study was presented at the OCEANS'10 IEEE Sydney Conference in May 2010.
