A prominent bathymetric expression of the Fitzroy River palaeochannel on the continental shelf of the southern Great Barrier Reef (GBR) is reported. The dataset, hosted by the Australian Ocean Data Network, provides new data for characterizing how major rivers respond to sea level change. The palaeochannel differs from the previously discovered Burdekin palaeochannel in that it has not been buried by sediments.
