Torres Strait Marine Biophysical Survey: Seabed Hydrodynamics and Seagrass Habitats

Northwest Torres Strait is the focus of this report containing preliminary results from Geoscience Australia survey 273. The survey measured trade wind conditions and acquired multibeam sonar, current meter, grab sample, vibro-core, underwater video, meteorological, and Landsat imagery data to characterize mobile sediments and hydrodynamics. It was undertaken as part of a Torres Strait CRC research program, with results compared to a prior monsoon-season survey.
