Geoscience Australia survey 266 provides preliminary results from a 2004 investigation of seabed geomorphology and sedimentary processes near Turnagain Island in central Torres Strait. The survey aimed to infer effects on seagrass distribution and survival, initiated due to widespread seagrass dieback threatening local dugong and turtle populations. This work was part of a larger field-based program managed by the Reef CRC.
