Description
The Bone Marrow Cell Dataset contains over 170,000 de-identified, expert-annotated cells from bone marrow biopsies. The dataset was created by author ekim15 and was last updated on Hugging Face on 2024-04-01. Bone marrow biopsies are used by doctors to diagnose and monitor blood and marrow diseases, cancers, and fevers of unknown origin.
Use Cases
Train cell classification models based on expert annotations of bone marrow cells.
Develop diagnostic tools for blood and marrow diseases based on cell imagery.
Benchmark image segmentation algorithms on medical cell data.
Study morphological features of healthy versus diseased bone marrow cells.
Strengths
Contains over 170,000 individual data points (cells).
Cells are expert-annotated, suggesting a level of quality control.
Data is de-identified, which may facilitate use in medical research.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
