Description
Geoscience Australia, AIMS, and the Northern Territory Government collected surface sediment data in Bynoe Harbour from 2-29 May 2016 aboard the RV Solander. This dataset comprises total chlorin concentrations, chlorin indices, and porosity measurements for seabed sediments, part of a four-year (2014-2018) marine environment baseline program. The survey aimed to obtain high-resolution bathymetry, characterize substrates, and collect tidal data for the Darwin and Bynoe Harbour regions.
Use Cases
Modeling seabed habitat health based on chlorin concentration data.
Analyzing sediment composition and properties for marine resource management.
Integrating geochemical sediment data with bathymetric maps for thematic habitat mapping.
Strengths
Data collected during a dedicated 28-day marine survey in May 2016.
Results are part of a defined four-year (2014-2018) baseline program.
Produced by authoritative institutions: Geoscience Australia, AIMS, and the NT Government.
