Description
May 2016 sediment oxygen demand data collected from Bynoe Harbour, Northern Territory, Australia. The dataset contains results from experiments on seabed sediments gathered during the RV Solander survey SOL6432/GA4452. It was produced by Geoscience Australia, the Australian Institute of Marine Science, and the Northern Territory Government's Department of Land Resource Management.
Use Cases
Modeling benthic oxygen consumption rates based on sediment chemistry data.
Assessing habitat health for marine resource management based on baseline environmental data.
Correlating sediment oxygen demand with acoustic backscatter and grain size data from the broader survey.
Strengths
Data collected during a dedicated four-year (2014-2018) marine survey program.
Results are linked to a detailed post-survey report (Record 2017/04) for context.
Produced through a collaboration of three authoritative government and research agencies.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
