Description
Dekadal (10-day) NDVI indicators for Côte d'Ivoire are provided here, aggregated by sub-national administrative units from NASA MODIS collection 6.1 satellite data. Produced by the World Food Programme (WFP), the dataset includes current vegetation indices, long-term averages, and percentage anomalies.
Use Cases
Assessing crop health by comparing current `vim` values against the `vim_lta` baseline
Identifying drought-affected regions using the `viq` anomaly percentage column
Validating the statistical reliability of aggregates using the `n_pixels` count
Strengths
Uses NASA MODIS collection 6.1 data from both Aqua and Terra satellites
Includes `vim_lta` (long-term average) for immediate historical context
Standardized Pcode references for integration with other WFP datasets
Limitations
Spatial resolution is limited to administrative aggregates rather than raw pixel-level data
Specific to WFP administrative boundaries which may differ from official government borders
Provenance
Source
World Food Programme (WFP) using NASA MODIS collection 6.1
Collection Method
Satellite remote sensing aggregated to administrative units
Freshness
Updated as of March 2026.
Geography
Côte d'Ivoire
Administrative units are based on WFP data; users should ensure Pcode compatibility when joining with external geospatial layers.
