Arctic Oil-in-Ice Characterization Imagery from 2022 Experiments

Two separate experiments conducted near the Beaufort Sea in Alaska and aboard the Canadian Coast Guard Cutter Sir Wilfrid Laurier between May 31st and June 6th and July 25th-28th, 2022. NOAA's Office of Response and Restoration led a multi-agency team to evaluate multispectral and thermal sensors for characterizing oil in ice environments. The findings are intended to support spill response and assessment activities in US navigable waters with ice.
