Description
The Netherlands monitors changes in its landscape using six indicators, including openness. This indicator measures visible hectares up to 2200 meters from a point, quantifying landscape openness. It was developed by a consortium including the National Agency for Cultural Heritage, Het Kadaster, and Wageningen University & Research for the Dutch ministries of Home Affairs, Education, Culture and Science, and Agriculture.
