Description
The Relieve indicator analyzes changes in ground level for agricultural and natural terrain in the Dutch cultural landscape. Changes are shown per 500 x 500 meter grid cell, with smaller changes excluded for technical and agricultural relevance. The National Agency for Cultural Heritage, Het Kadaster, LandschapNL, and Wageningen University & Research developed this indicator as part of the Monitor Landscape for the ministries of BZK, OCW, and LNV.
Use Cases
Monitoring land subsidence or elevation changes based on relief interventions mentioned in the description.
Analyzing the impact of agricultural activities like ploughing on ground level over time.
Assessing larger terrain alterations such as nature depletion or land chilling visible in the analysis.
Studying the distribution of relief changes across the Dutch cultural landscape.
Strengths
Data is aggregated at a standardized 500 x 500 meter grid cell resolution.
Developed by multiple authoritative Dutch institutions including the National Agency for Cultural Heritage and Wageningen University & Research.
