A transcriptome of the arrow worm Spadella cephaloptera was searched for photoreceptor-related genes. The screen revealed two xenopsin copies, one peropsin copy, and one cryptochrome gene, with expression patterns analyzed in developing and adult eyes. The dataset was generated by Tim Wollesen of the University of Vienna to study eye development in Gnathifera.
