Production Factors and Feed Efficiency for Grow-Finishing Pigs in Brazil, 2010-2013

From 2010 to 2013, this study analyzed historical production data from approximately 404,000 pigs across 538 batches on 175 commercial farms in Paraná State, Brazil. The research by D.S. Borges identified and quantified 40 production factors to model their influence on daily feed intake and feed conversion ratio. The resulting models explained 25% and 46% of the variance for the respective metrics.
