Description
142,904 RGB aerial images captured on April 20, 2014, with a 300mm focal length sensor. The orthorectified mosaic has a 6cm spatial resolution and an 18cm spatial accuracy for ground-level features.
Use Cases
Create high-resolution (6cm) base maps for land-use planning using the orthorectified imagery.
Analyze ground-level spatial patterns with the 18cm accuracy specification for terrain features.
Assess imagery coverage and flight planning efficiency using the 56% forward overlap and 10% side overlap metrics.
Study vegetation density impacts on spatial accuracy as noted in the dataset limitations.
Strengths
Contains 142,904 individual aerial images.
Offers a high spatial resolution of 6 centimeters per pixel.
Specifies a ground-level spatial accuracy of 18 centimeters.
Imagery was captured with a defined 56% forward and 10% side overlap.
Limitations
Spatial accuracy is reduced for elevated structures like rooftops and tree canopies due to relief displacement.
Accuracy is explicitly stated to be reduced in areas of dense vegetation.
The rectification surface used a client-supplied DTM with unknown accuracy.
