Daniel De Vega from the James Hutton Institute conducted transcriptomic analysis of tomato plants treated with the elicitor chitosan to study defense priming against the fungal pathogen Botrytis cinerea. The work identified two novel tomato genes, Avr9/Cf-9 rapidly-elicited protein 75 (ACRE75) and 180 (ACRE180), as positive regulators of resistance. This dataset likely contains gene expression profiles from large-scale transcriptomic analysis at early time-points after infection.
