Description
650 Mb chromosome-scale genome assembly of the wild progenitor of sugar beet, comprising 9 pseudochromosomes with a 72 Mb N50. Alexandra Kasianova generated this highly contiguous assembly using ONT long-read sequencing, achieving 97.7% complete BUSCO genes. The structural annotation includes 27,237 genes and 24,574 protein-coding genes, with 96.1% completeness.
Use Cases
Comparative genomics analysis based on the chromosome-scale assembly of a wild beet progenitor.
Gene family evolution studies based on the 27,237 annotated genes and 24,574 protein-coding genes.
Assembly quality benchmarking based on the reported 72 Mb N50 and 99.6% assignment to chromosome-scale scaffolds.
Telomere and chromosomal structure research based on the presence of telomeric repeats at most chromosome ends.
Strengths
High assembly continuity with an N50 of 72 Mb and 99.6% of sequence assigned to chromosome-scale scaffolds.
High completeness with 97.7% of complete BUSCO genes identified using the Eudicots dataset.
Comprehensive structural annotation containing 27,237 genes and 151,137 transcripts.
