Description
CTD profiles provide high-resolution measurements of temperature, salinity, density, and other oceanographic parameters. The dataset contains 287 casts collected from the NOAA Ship Miller Freeman in the Bering Sea, Gulf of Alaska, and North Pacific Ocean. Data was processed by the Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory and submitted to the National Oceanographic Data Center in a standardized format.
Use Cases
Analyzing vertical water column structure using temperature and salinity profiles.
Calculating ocean density (sigma-t) for studies of water mass distribution and circulation.
Investigating relationships between dissolved oxygen levels and physical oceanographic conditions.
Correlating surface meteorological conditions recorded during casts with subsurface ocean properties.
Mapping the spatial distribution of oceanographic features across the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska.
