December 2020 data product delineating Australia's domestic and international maritime limits and boundaries. Geoscience Australia developed this GIS dataset in consultation with other Commonwealth agencies, providing a digital representation of zones established under legislation like the Seas and Submerged Lands Act 1973. Coverage includes the mainland, offshore islands, and External Territories, spanning latitudes from 7°S to 70°S and longitudes from 40°E to 175°E.
Data is provided in ESRI Geodatabase format; users require GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) for full utilization. In any inconsistency, the limits under the legislation prevail over the AMB data.
