Description
1.3 GB of hourly, 2 km resolution emission data for 12 pollutants, including CO2, PM2.5, and Levoglucosan. The COBBEI inventory was created by Jingwen Shi, integrating multi-satellite data from MODIS, NPP, and FY-4A. It was last updated on April 23, 2026.
Use Cases
Modeling hourly atmospheric pollutant dispersion based on the 1-hour temporal resolution.
Analyzing spatial patterns of biomass burning emissions across China based on the 2 km spatial grid.
Validating satellite-derived fire detection algorithms based on the integration of MODIS, NPP, and FY-4A data.
Estimating contributions of specific pollutants like Black Carbon (BC) or Levoglucosan to regional air quality.
Strengths
High spatiotemporal resolution of 2 km and 1 hour for detailed analysis.
Covers 12 distinct pollutants, including gases, particulates, and tracers like Levoglucosan.
Integrates data from three satellite sources: MODIS, NPP, and Fengyun-4A (FY-4A).
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment for large-scale ML tasks.
