High-Resolution Antarctic Ice Core Chemical And Biological Record

Approximately 1000 meters of ice core from the WAIS Divide project, spanning from the Last Glacial Maximum to the early Holocene, were analyzed. The Montana State University component, led by PI Priscu, developed technology for enumerating bacteria and characterizing dissolved organic carbon. This NSF-OPP funded collaborative project integrated chemical and biological analyses to study the Last Deglaciation at sub-annual resolution.
