Arthrobacter sp. ZJUTW, isolated from Hangzhou river sludge, efficiently degrades the environmental pollutant Dibutyl phthalate (DBP). Combined genomic and transcriptomic analyses reveal a complete DBP metabolic pathway distinct from other Arthrobacter strains, involving gene clusters on a plasmid and chromosome. The research was conducted by Tengfei Liu of Zhejiang University of Technology.
