Description
Four fully annotated, complete chloroplast genomes for the plant species Trigonella caerulea, T. corniculata (cv. PKM), T. foenum-graecum (cv. AGF-3), and T. gladiata. The 737.5 KB dataset was assembled from Illumina sequencing reads using GetOrganelle and annotated with PGA tools, with manual curation for CDS features. It was authored by Ramawatar Nagar and last updated on April 21, 2026.
Use Cases
Conducting phylogenetic analysis based on complete chloroplast genome sequences.
Studying chloroplast genome structure and gene order across related Trigonella species.
Developing or benchmarking annotation pipelines using manually curated CDS, start, and stop codons.
Comparative genomics to identify species-specific variations or conserved regions.
Strengths
Includes four distinct species, enabling comparative analysis.
Genomes are fully annotated and manually curated for CDS features, which likely improves accuracy.
Data is provided in the standard GenBank format, facilitating use with bioinformatics tools.
Limitations
The dataset is small at 737.5 KB, representing a limited genomic scope of four species.
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment for certain analyses.
