Description
2023-2024 sediment core data collected from the North Sea and Celtic Sea by the RV Cefas Endeavour. The dataset includes measurements for metals, rare earth elements, organotins, PAHs, PBDEs, PCBs, organochlorine pesticides, and PFAS. The data were collected by the Government Digital Service.
Use Cases
Modeling historical contaminant deposition based on sediment core layers.
Assessing regional pollution levels of industrial chemicals like PCBs and PBDEs.
Tracking the presence and concentration of persistent organic pollutants such as PFAS and OCPs.
Analyzing spatial distribution of metals and rare earth elements in marine sediments.
Strengths
Covers multiple contaminant classes including metals, REEs, PAHs, and industrial chemicals.
Data collected from two distinct marine regions (North Sea and Celtic Sea).
Includes samples from multiple surveys conducted in 2023 and 2024.
